Greg Riley MS CPDT CMAS
Canine Behavior Consultant
Professional Dog Trainer
Master Aggression Specialist
A lover of dogs, and the more-than-human world in general since childhood, one of Greg's greater influences in the art and science of dog training came through the writings & musings of the Monks of New Skete; a monastic community that evolved into German Shepherd breeders and dog trainers who understand the inherent nature of dogs and their ability to draw us out of our selves and towards a deeper connection with the more-than-human-world, and to the mystery of creation. And today it is this integral connection between dogs and their hoomans, and the sense of wonder that it engenders, that drives and informs all of Greg's training endeavors here at Off The Hook Dogs.
Today, Greg is considered one of the area's foremost experts in canine cognition and emotion, he is a Master Aggression Specialist, an Anthrozoologist, an Applied Canine Behaviorist, and a professional canine educator who has successfully trained thousands of dogs over three decades. In addition to a earning a Master's Degree in Anthrozoology with depth of study in both Ethology and Behaviorism, Greg has completed multiple training apprenticeships and programs with such luminaries as Ian Dunbar, Michael Ellis, & Cesar Millan, and through Duke University and the University of Edinburgh. Greg's post-graduate studies centered on how combining the fields of quantum physics and biology with an ethological understanding of canine behavior might inform his behavior modification trainings and emotional therapies - all of which experience ensures a science-based and humane training experience that maximizes the human-canine bond while training dogs to reach their highest potential.
Here at Off The Hook Dogs!
